Last week I teamed up with Sherry from The Wild Love Collective for a styled photoshoot and got to wear the most magical cotton candy dress that ever existed. Sherry is an international flight attendant and in 2020 started her business of dress rentals after purchasing an amazing blue tulle skirt that she was going to wear for her own photoshoot with her husband on a trip to Greece. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic their travel plans got cancelled and next thing she knew her rental business began. That original skirt is now her most popular renter and the one that started it all!
For many people the thought of buying a beautiful gown for a photoshoot just doesn’t make sense. Dress rentals have been growing in popularity and there are so many benefits to doing so. Firstly, it can save you a lot of money. While buying a couture dress might set you back hundreds or even thousands of dollars, you can rent the same dress for just a fraction of the price. It will also save you in closet space. A lot of couture dresses are long and can be bulky, and take up valuable real-estate space in your closet, so by renting a dress you don’t have to worry about storage.
If you are going to rent a dress for your photoshoot there are a few things to keep in mind:
